White Center is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington, United States. It lies between Seattle and Burien part of which was annexed by Burien on 1 April 2010.[3] The population was 13,495 at the 2010 census.

White Center is located at (47.507370, -122.347385).[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.4 square miles (8.8 km²), of which 99.71% is land and 0.29% is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 20,975 people, 7,542 households, and 5,146 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 6,194.9 people per square mile (2,388.9/km²). There were 7,775 housing units at an average density of 2,296.3/sq mi (885.5/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 55% White, 6% Black or African American, 2% Native American, 21% Asian, 3% Pacific Islander, 7% from other races, and 6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 12% of the population.
There were 7,542 households, out of which 35.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were married couples living together, 16.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.8% were non-families. 23.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.29.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 31.8% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 101.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $40,480, and the median income for a family was $43,038. Males had a median income of $34,937 versus $27,391 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $17,339. About 12.3% of families and 14.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.9% of those under age 18 and 6.8% of those age 65 or over. The typical home for sale in White Center was built in 1969, which is older than the typical home for sale in Washington.[7]
White Center is part of the Highline School District, which covers much of southwestern King County. Elementary schools include Beverly Park Elementary, Mount View Elementary, Southern Heights Elementary, and White Center Heights Elementary. Secondary schools include Cascade Middle School, New Start High School, and Evergreen High School. Evergreen hosts three "small schools" on its campus, namely the Arts & Academic Academy, the Health, Science, & Human Services School, and the Technology, Engineering, & Communications Schools.[8]
